Heraldica's Mythological Ladies' Ring Collection
The original engraving was described in a museum catalog as: Greek intaglio - Black jasper scaraboid - 480-470 B.C. The name Anakles inscribed in the original stone may refer either to the owner of the stone or to the artist. A nude satyr is leaning against a wineskin and is holding out his kantharos in his right hand while the left is laid on his hip. The head is in profile; the trunk in three quarter view.
